Updated: Jan 28

New York, NY

SIM Eternal Studio, at the forefront of innovative urban cemetery design and futuristic funeral services development, is announcing a significant date change for its highly anticipated conference, "Death and the City: Future Now." Initially scheduled for October 3, 2024, the event will now take place on November 4, 2024, in New York City.

Following the successful pilot conference held in Seoul, South Korea, on September 15, 2023, this event marks the first official gathering of its kind in New York. It is a pivotal moment for professionals and enthusiasts alike in the field of urban planning, sustainable cemetery design, and the future of memorialization.

The conference, extending throughout November, will host an array of exhibitions and workshops. These sessions will feature a distinguished lineup of international creators, creative technologists, architects, designers, and local organizations. The event aims to foster a rich dialogue and collaborative thinking on the integration of cemeteries into urban landscapes, addressing critical issues such as limited burial space and the evolution of memorial practices in modern cities.

Paul J. Kang, Founder of SIM Eternal Studio, emphasized the importance of the conference: "Our mission to reimagine and revitalize memorialization in urban settings takes a significant step forward with this conference. It's a convergence point for groundbreaking ideas and sustainable practices that respect our past while looking towards the future."

Participants can look forward to engaging with cutting-edge concepts, exploring sustainable and eco-friendly solutions, and participating in hands-on workshops that push the boundaries of traditional cemetery and funeral service designs.
